National Daily Minimum Wage set at GH₵19.97
The National Tripartite Committee (NTC) has announced a 10% increase in Ghana’s National Daily Minimum Wage (NDMW) for 2025. The new wage, set at GH₵19.97, was agreed upon during a meeting in Accra on Thursday, February 20, 2025.
In addition to the wage adjustment, the Base Pay on the Single Spine Salary Structure (SSSS) has also been increased by 10% across board, effective from January to December 2025, according to an official communiqué issued by the NTC.
All establishments, institutions, and organizations are required to comply with the new wage structure. This adjustment is part of ongoing efforts to ensure fair compensation for workers while maintaining economic stability and business sustainability.
Implementation and Compliance
Announcing the decision in Accra, Abdul-Rashid Pelpuo emphasized the importance of compliance with the new wage policy.
“There has been a 10% increase in the national daily minimum wage over the 2024 rate, bringing the new wage to GH₵19.97. The new wage structure will take effect from March 1, 2025. All organizations paying below this amount must adjust accordingly,” he stated.
